the amaranthine

if men could behold the crimson
rose, and marvel at its beauty divine
so could i, as i stared endlessly
at the amaranthine

the fleeting wisps of the odious wind
as they lash unbridled against the world
but waver not, the buds of the amaranthine
when faced with such monstrosity

pain, and time again, as it watches
the world slowly fade in its ephemeral
beauty, but stand firm with steady
feet, the amaranthine against all time
