Tapitoo: himself

its been quite long since i have blogged like this. hahah. been spending alot of time writing poetry these few days, some r posted, most not. partly this week has been a really literature focused week and i have been indulging myself too much into literature. we had this parody peformance today and it was quite successful. QUITE, hahah. though we didnt win anything, it was really a funny show we put on - cheers to Position 63. this parody was really stressful being the group leader. i guess i spent the most time amongst my group mates on this entire venture. the most stressful was actually dealing with the technicalities and the cast itself. people are most unpredictable. today was the worst. we lost Dr. Raju Jai R. Fuglass' mask and had to come up with an entirely new way of conveying the theme to the audience (Dr. Raju Jai R. Fuglass is the main character). however, today im really thankful. during the entire course of the preparations, i was praying, something i had not done very frequently 4 d past week. as i prayed, i suddenly had an idea, a very very spontaneous and wild idea: remove the masks and act with our natural faces instead. sheesh though this drastic change did not entitle any rehearsal, we still managed to put on a very very entertaining show. during the entire duration of the show, there were many forgotten lines, additional scenes, etc etc. all unrehearsed and all happening to me. hahah. however, god gave me wisdom to improvise the lines which i missed, to be able to tickle the audience with the unrehearsed telephone call and pull off my parts with improvised, impromptu acting. hahah. it was quite a success in all. all thanks 2 god =) for he is great. today was quite a breakthrough. through this, i have also realized the reasons why i have been feeling so spiritually dry and so wasted. the thoughts that ran through my head when i wrote most of my poems were mostly negative thoughts, sensitive thoughts, vindictive thoughts, corrupted thoughts etc etc. thoughts that made me a victim of everything even when i wasnt really one. what a pathetic waste of a mind, dwelling in self-pity and remorse when one should step up. thoughts that focus on oneself always, i repeat, always take your mind off god. the focus of life should be nothing of the self, but more of the selfless, the others, and the lord. perhaps the entire 2 weeks of which i have been though really drove home a point: useless are we who lack christ.

Tapitoo feat. Nicky: a surge of poetic inspiration

Tapitoo:

And so he walks the streets
Softly, gently with each heavy step
An invisible being to most
Yet the blind beggar still proceeds

All the apathetic stares
All the pitiful yet envious glances
All the sincere yet uncomprehending questions
Yet the blind beggar still walks alone

At the first sign of rain
The shelters go up
People scurry away – all now gone
Yet the blind beggar still walks on

As the torrents pour in
The streets empty
All save one lone figure
The blind beggar walks on

With a short prayer and harmonica in hand
As the floodgates pour burst
A tune of hope resonates through the despair
And the blind beggar now sits
One final burst of musical flair

With the last drops still falling
The people return back to their lives
“What a lovely melody”,
they speak in soft tones
And while they scurry back on
The blind beggar drags his sickly corpse back up
Another journey awaits him – a spiritless leprechaun

And on so he walks
The blind beggar on his journey
Till at last joined by another beggar blind
The darkness finally clears and on they walk
Yet sight of which they need not
A bond transcending all eternity

To you my dear friend, I salute
At long last you are loved and free
And from now till the end
Walk on dearest and wretched two
The beggar and his friend

Nicky:

A step, a shuffle;
The dregs of society have come.

Do you see?
- What with?

Life, fate and God are illusive;
A higher authority being the 10-cent coin.

Can you smell?
- The sour metal of coinage.

He looks up at the distinct clink of metal;
A percussive accompaniment to his haunting melody.

Can you hear?
- We are not alone.

Afloat in a sea of material wealth;
The salt-water is undrinkable.

Can you feel?
- Only what we were taught in school.

Have pity on me sir,
A poor, blind beggar.

Tapitoo:

Is life just transient?
A kleptomaniac of hellish angel

What should life be then?
Can I attain enlightenment?
Of Nirvana and the likes

What if all before us were just lies?
Materialism – a chasing after the winds

How then would we choose to live?
Is there another side?

Emotions are they the only reality?
Pieces of soul remnants after death?

Is that all there is to humanity?
A chasing after nothingness?

Are we just
Lost in the middle of nowhere?

Nicky:

The beggar has a sole purpose in life
Staying alive from day to day
Subsisting on his meager pension
Whatever society can be arsed to give

How does he find meaning in this sad existence?
Night school, security guard, suicide;
All other options were closed to him long ago.
He lacks even the money to kill himself.

Throwing himself in front of traffic
Would not be a nice way of repaying a society
That impoverished and then kept him alive
As a practical joke? Social experiment?

‘Dude, we’ve got hobo on our windscreen.’
The wipers don’t work, the spray is jammed
Laving the filth is no easy task
Not when we’re a part of it.

Tapitoo:

Blind beggars divine
Crossing turf to field
One after another
Their journeys to nowhere

Och Och: the delicate makings of a tragedy
Of sick madness still undefined
Herald a visionary from beyond
Tortured by his socio-masochistic views
Killed by his own foresight

Amen =)
